Candido Mendes is a journalist based in Luanda and working with Bloomberg News. He covers Angola’s economy, energy, finance and markets. He has two decades of experience reporting on the southern African nation’s development and efforts to diversify beyond oil, including its agriculture and infrastructure sectors.

 

Candido has a strong interest in languages and is currently learning Mandarin. He also uses technology, including open-source intelligence tools and Python, to enhance his reporting and uncover new ways of finding and analyzing information.
