Economist and central banker with more than 28 years of professional experience, he serves as Governor of the Bank of Namibia. He holds a Master of Science in Economics from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Namibia, complemented by Senior Management Education from Stellenbosch Business School. He has also served as a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP-194) at Harvard Business School.

Before joining the Bank of Namibia, he worked as a Researcher at the Namibia Economic Policy Research Unit (NEPRU) and as an Advisor to the Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C.
