Awa Gueye BA is the Regional Public Policy Lead at Wave Mobile Money, where she oversees stakeholder engagement advocacy with regulators and governments and builds partnerships to support Wave’s mission and growth.

With nearly 20 years of experience in operational and executive management, Awa has worked in both large multinational companies and startups. Her expertise includes a deep understanding of market dynamics and operational challenges in Africa’s financial services, particularly in money transfers, financial inclusion, payments, and fintech.

She has held leadership roles at Western Union, WorldRemit, and Mowali, demonstrating her expertise in these areas.

Awa began her career in marketing at Microsoft in France before joining Havas Advertising Group. She then worked as the marketing and communications manager at Air Sénégal International (Royal Air Maroc group).

Awa holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from I.A.E. Lille and a Master’s in Direct Marketing and E-commerce from ESC Lille Business School.
