Africa faces an annual development financing gap of over $400 billion, despite holding more than $4 trillion in domestic capital. Led by the African Development Bank, the New African Financial Architecture for Development (NAFAD) aims to better coordinate financial institutions, mobilise African resources and channel capital towards the continent’s development priorities.
Moving beyond a general presentation of NAFAD, this transaction-focused roundtable will use a concrete project or investment case to examine how governments, development finance institutions, commercial banks, institutional investors, guarantee providers and project sponsors can improve project preparation and financial structuring, crowd in equity and debt, reduce risk, and accelerate financial close.
