Eunice Ruguru Gatama

Eunice has over 15 years of relevant experience in Banking at NCBA Bank Kenya and Telecommunication at Safaricom PLC with a specialty in Digital Financial Services. Over the years Eunice has led as well as been a member of various project teams to deliver leading strategic products, more recent leading the delivery and scaling of FULIZA M-PESA which has outdone its projected performance and bagged both local and global awards. She was also in charge of other loans and savings products as well as data monetization in the Safaricom Financial Services (M-PESA) team. 

Eunice is also passionate about Digital Financial Inclusion and was part of the team (at Safaricom) charged with driving the agenda to have more women connected, using and benefiting from mobile services, this being in conjunctions organizations like Vodafone for their M-Woman program and GSMA’s Connected Woman initiative. She is also an Acumen Fellow a global community of social innovators – committed to lifelong learning, collaboration, and accompaniment as they build a world based on dignity. 

She is a graduate of the United States International University – Africa holding Bsc. in Information Technology, Networking. She also holds a Micro Masters in Digital Product Management from Boston University.
