Dr. Denny KALYALYA

Dr. Denny H. Kalyalya is the Governor and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Zambia. He previously served as a Borrower Representative for the International Development Association (IDA) 18 and IDA 19 with the World Bank Group (WBG), and Independent Co-Chair of the IDA 20 Replenishment. Dr. Kalyalya also served as Governor and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Zambia from February 2015 to August 2020. Prior to that, he served in other senior positions including that of Executive Director at the WBG for Africa Group One Constituency, and Deputy Governor – Operations at the Bank of Zambia.

He holds a PhD and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, USA as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Zambia.
