Amine BOUABID

Since 2015, Mr. Amine BOUABID has been Director and General Manager of BOA Group S.A., the umbrella company of the BANK OF AFRICA Group, operating in 16 African countries and in France, with a consolidated balance sheet total of 9.4 billion Euros in 2021 and with more than 6,500 employees.

Between 2007 and 2016, i.e. for almost 10 years, Mr. BOUABID was called upon to sit on the Board of Directors of BANK OF AFRICA, which currently holds 72% of the holding company BOA Group S.A.

In 1996, Mr. BOUABID was entrusted with the mission of creating SALAFIN, a consumer credit institution, subsidiary of BANK OF AFRICA. He worked actively until 2015.

In 2007, SALAFIN was listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange; in 2015, it had a market capitalization of USD 170 million and one of the best returns on investment in the market with a ROE1 of around 20% for equity capital of around USD 65 million. SALAFIN currently employs 250 people and has a balance sheet total of USD 343 million.

In 1992, at the beginning of his professional career, Mr. BOUABID worked as a financial analyst at the Commercial Bank of Morocco (BCM). The following year, he joined the founders of Casablanca Finance Group (CFG) in order to participate in its start-up and development. To this end, he participated in the creation of several business lines within the young investment bank (research, analysis, asset management, intermediation), of which he became the Deputy General Manager.

It should be recalled that Mr. BOUABID has deeply contributed to the reform of the Moroccan financial market and has participated in the launch of the first private stock market index of the Casablanca Stock Exchange.

Mr. Amine BOUABID holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems and an MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
