AFIS Annual Summit: Forging Africa’s Financial Powerhouse

Africa's most influential gathering, bringing leaders together to shape a more inclusive and resilient financial future for Africa.

During two intense and inspiring days, the AFIS Annual Summit becomes the hub of Africa’s financial transformation. With over 1,250 senior leaders from Africa’s financial industry in attendance, including top bankers, insurers, fintech founders, capital market experts and mobile money operators, as well as policymakers and regulators from Africa and beyond, this unique platform fosters bold debate, high-level collaboration and decisive solutions.

Visionary ideas are transformed into concrete action plans to overcome the toughest challenges facing the sector, including climate transition, digital irevolution, financial inclusion, and regulatory harmonisation.

Host country

Republic of Angola

Angola is emerging as one of Africa’s most promising financial hubs. With 40 million inhabitants and the 7th largest GDP on the continent (US$115 billion), the country has made significant strides in strengthening its financial infrastructure, modernising its banking sector – with assets reaching an estimated 40 billion USD – and expanding access to capital. Economic diversification is accelerating under Angola Vision 2050, reducing dependence on oil through investment in agriculture, mining, manufacturing and financial services. Major infrastructure projects such as the Lobito Corridor further highlight its ambition. Angola’s commitment to reform and financial inclusion, combined with a booming regional connectivity, positions it as a key player in Africa’s financial landscape.

AFIS is now a leading forum for finance in Africa. Few events offer such an opportunity to bring together the entire ecosystem and work collectively. It is both a key and strategic forum, a unique space for collaboration, a place for meaningful discussions on the continent’s major challenges, and an event marked by well-organised, impactful moments.
