Elizabeth Kibirige NAMUGENYI

Eliza, a Ugandan national, is IFC’s Director of Partnerships and Blended Finance. In this capacity, Eliza leads on strategic relationships with development partners, multilaterals, think tanks, and other relevant stakeholders to reinforce IFC’s reputation and position on the development finance landscape and enable IFC to set the global agenda on private sector development in emerging economies. She also oversees the efficient and effective deployment of all concessional blended finance funds under management and ensures that obligations to contributors who have entrusted IFC with delegated authority to manage their funds are fully met.
Prior to her current role, she was the Director of IFC’s Budget and Business Administration department (CBA). During her time as Director, CBA, Eliza led the streamlining and simplification of the organization’s annual business planning and budget process and ensured proper control and oversight of IFC’s budget and global real estate resources in alignment with IFC’s strategic priorities. She oversaw a marked increase in the use of automation, where she championed the standardization of automated reporting on resources and the adoption of Robotics Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence on budget, real estate and procurement processes and procedures.
Prior to her current role, she was the Manager for the WBG Accounts Payable, Quality Assurance and Travel Accounting division in the World Bank and before that, the Senior Adviser to the Vice President and WBG Controller. In these roles, she provided strategic leadership on a wide range of financial reporting and accounting matters and designed effective and efficient processes for these functions.
Eliza joined IFC in 2006. Before joining IFC, she built extensive international experience in finance and accounting, including in leadership positions, in PricewaterhouseCoopers in Africa and the UK.
Ms. Namugenyi holds a Master of Business Administration from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom.
