Decerned in six distinct categories, these Awards symbolize the financial dynamism, technological innovation, and strength of the sector.

The Award winners will be announced during a special session at the AFIS Annual Summit, which will be held on 3 November 2025 in Casablanca, Morocco.

African banker

This Award honours exceptional banking leaders whose vision, innovation, and commitment are transforming Africa’s financial landscape. By driving inclusive growth, expanding access to finance, and shaping resilient institutions, these leaders demonstrate the pivotal role of the banking sector in unleashing the continent’s economic potential.

African Insurer

This Award celebrates those redefining Africa’s insurance sector as a pillar of economic integration and honours the forward-thinking leaders who are driving this change. By offering innovative products, improving risk management and prioritising inclusion, these leaders are establishing protection systems that empower individuals, businesses and communities across the continent.

African Fund

This  Award honours investment funds and asset managers whose inventive strategies generate capital for Africa’s real economy. These market leaders combine performance with purpose to unlock long-term value, fund infrastructure and spark new opportunities for growth and development.

African Woman in Finance

This Award highlights the achievements of exceptional women who are redefining the financial sector through their leadership. These dynamic individuals are active in both the public and private sectors, championing diversity, inspiring the next generation and driving sustainable, inclusive growth across the continent.

African Central Bank Governor

This Award recognises visionary central bank leaders  whose management ensures financial stability while enabling economic transformation. By fostering trust, driving reforms and encouraging sustainable policies, these governors play a decisive role in shaping Africa’s fiscal resilience and global competitiveness.

AFRICAN DISRUPTER

This Award celebrates the game-changers in African finance who are breaking barriers and challenging the status quo. Through fintech, digital transformation or entirely new business models, these pioneers are expanding the boundaries of financial inclusion and reshaping the industry’s future
