The “African Insurer” Award highlights the crucial role of the financial sector in the economic integration of the continent. It rewards the African CEO in the insurance sector that has distinguished himself or herself by the company’s regional expansion and innovation strategy, financial performance, community impact and business development.
CRITERIA
- Major acquisition or investment made in the past year thanks to the CEO (scope and potential impact on the company’s business)
- Reputation, influence and expertise recognised by the CEO’s peers in his or her sector and in the broader business community
- Number of countries where the company is present and number of subsidiaries opened in Africa over the past year (excluding countries of origin)
- Number of jobs created in Africa in the last year (excluding home country)
- Share of total revenues generated in Africa in the past year (excluding home country)
- % Increase in revenue in Africa over the past year (excluding home country)
- Pan-African expansion strategy: key strategy components and level of achievement versus what remains to be done
- Financial Performance: please provide the data for the years 2023 and 2024 in the form below
- Innovation and digital transformation: Introduction of new insurance products and services / Adoption of new technologies (claims management and underwriting) / Use of artificial intelligence and big data
- Market share in life and non-life insurance and customer growth
ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES
Any African CEO of an insurance company based in Africa, with sales of at least €50 million per year and operational in more than five African countries.
Submission by application, nomination by a third party (company or individual) or identification by the AFIS editorial team.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The call for applications is open until October 1, 2025.
The pre-selected companies will be notified one month before the event. They commit to send one of their executives to the award ceremony.
The winning company will be awarded during a special session at the next Africa Financial Summit, November 3-4, 2025, in Casablanca, Morocco.
