African Central Bank Governor

The “African Central Bank Governor” Award recognises the role of governors in economic development. The award honours the African central bank governor who has successfully managed inflation and exchange rates, and whose influence and leadership are recognised across the continent.

CRITERIA

  • Controlling inflation in the concerned area
  • Support to economic growth
  • Currency stability
  • Interest rate policy
  • Implementation of reforms to promote financial inclusion and regulatory frameworks adapted to innovation
  • A governor must have held office for at least two years.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

African central banks governors. Identification by the AFIS editorial team.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Pre-selected governors will be notified one month prior to the event.
The winning governor will be awarded during a special session at the Africa Financial Summit on November 3-4, 2025 in Casablanca, Morocco.
