Ferdie is Citi’s Middle East and Africa Head of Trade & Working Capital Solutions since August 2023.  Prior to that, he was SSA Head of Trade & Working Capital Solutions since November 2021. Citi is present in 29 countries in MEA but also does business in 30 hub-managed countries. Ferdie has over 27 years of working experience‎ with 25 at Citi, spanning across West, Central, North, Southern and East Africa covering different roles in Operations, Controls, Finance, Transaction Services, Treasury and Trade Solutions, Franchise CEO and Client Coverage.  

He has been with Citi since 1999 and has held a number of increasingly senior positions, starting in Operations and Technology in Cameroon, he moved to Finance in 2002 as Controller, CFO for Citi Cameroon with support to Gabon and DRC from 2005-2008, CFO for Citi Algeria 2009-2011, Cash Management Head for Citi Cameroon and later Citi Transaction Services Head Cameroon and Cash Management Head for West & Central Africa from 2012-2013, Treasury & Trade Solutions Head for West & Central Africa from 2013-2017, CEO of Citibank Zambia Ltd March 2017- Jan 2020, Corporate Bank Head East Africa from February 2020 to March 2022, Trade & Working Capital Solutions Head, SSA from November 2021-August 2023 and currently, Trade & Working Capital Solutions Head, Middle East and Africa.

Whilst in Zambia, Ferdie was the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia.  He also served on the boards of the Bankers Association of Zambia.  Previously, Ferdie was a board member of Citibank Cameroon Plc, Second-licensed Head of Citi Algeria from 2010-2011 and Executive Board member of Citibank Zambia Ltd 2019-2020.

Ferdie holds an MBA in Banking (First Class, Honours) and BSc in Banking & Finance.  Ferdie is currently a PHD Candidate of Business Management.

Ferdie currently lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.  Ferdie is married with kids and enjoys helping underprivileged communities.
