Appointed Second Deputy Governor in 2016, he coordinated the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) and played a pivotal role in advancing reforms in monetary operations, banking regulation, and financial inclusion.

A Ghanaian economist with a deep commitment to institutional development, Dr. Asiama holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Southampton, UK. His academic and professional interests lie in monetary policy, financial stability, and risk management, which continue to guide his leadership approach at the central bank.
