Hope Murera is the Managing Director & CEO of ZEP-RE (PTA Reinsurance Company), a Pan-African Public-Private Partnership that brings together governments, development finance institutions, and the private sector to strengthen Africa’s risk resilience and financial independence.

Under her leadership, ZEP-RE has evolved into a continental leader in climate resilience and agricultural insurance, deploying innovative solutions that protect millions of smallholder farmers and enterprises from climate-related shocks.

As Africa advances toward financial sovereignty, Hope advocates for the strategic use of insurance and risk financing as tools for mobilizing domestic capital, protecting assets, and driving sustainable growth. Her conviction is clear: “There is no financial inclusion without insurance.”

Hope chairs ACRE Africa, serves on the Global Give Back Circle Board, and is a member of the Insurance Development Forum (IDF) Steering Committee, where she contributes to shaping global frameworks for inclusive resilience.

A certified leadership coach, she is deeply committed to mentorship and building the next generation of transformational African leaders. She holds an MBA from IMD International and a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) from Makerere University, Uganda.
