Eden HARRIS

Special Correspondent for Connecting Africa

Financial Times

Eden Harris is a prominent US-Africa journalist based in Washington, DC, and will soon be moving to Africa. She is committed to equity-driven storytelling that amplifies African and diaspora voices. With bylines at NBC News, the Financial Times, Al Jazeera and more, she intentionally chose the freelance path after her full-time gig as politics producer and reporter, covering the White House and Capitol Hill, to pitch stories that provide the African continent with fair, nuanced coverage, going beyond negative headlines. Eden has interviewed high-profile leaders, including former Vice President of Nigeria Yemi Osinbajo, and top finance and technology changemakers across Africa and Washington. A former foster child and passionate advocate for diaspora unity, she believes journalism should build bridges between global Black communities. Her reporting in NBC News spotlights Nigerian visa challenges and remittance taxes imposed by the Trump administration. Eden welcomes donations to support her independent journalism and ensure these powerful stories continue to reach major platforms. Her work is a testament to what’s possible when we center truth, equity and connection.
