Olivier is an MSc Economics graduate from SOAS, the School of Oriental Studies of the University of London; he holds a Master’s in Business Administration from ESCP Business School and completed INSEAD’s International Directors Program.
He has 28 years of banking and financial services experience covering trade finance, infrastructure and telecom finance as well as corporate finance and sovereign debt advisory services, all Africa-related :
- General Secretary, AFIS – Africa Financial Summit, a platform bringing together key stakeholders and leaders, public and private, from Africa’s financial services industry.
- Founder and Managing Partner of Mokka Capital, a Paris-based financial advisory firm dedicated to African corporate clients. Focus on capital raise and debt restructuring for private and sovereign clients across various industry sectors: financial services, private equity, agribusiness and natural resources. Strategic advisor to family-owned businesses and various African financial institutions.
- Former Managing Director, First Bank of Nigeria UK’s French branch.
- Held Management roles at IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, as Africa Sector Lead for Telecoms, Media & Technology Finance, IFC Region Head for the Central Africa region and Client Lead in the Financial Institutions Group for West & Central Africa.
- Established and managed the regional merchant banking operations of Belgolaise Bank (Fortis Group) for West Africa after working with ING Bank on soft/agri commodities.
- Current Board Directorships with prominent African financial institutions: Bank of Africa Group (16 countries footprint), Rawbank (DRC’s premier bank) and Activa Insurance Group as well as Enko Private Equity Fund.
- Investment Funds : Senior Advisor to Enko Capital for the launch of an Africa Impact Credit Fund and previous Fund Advisory Committee roles with Africinvest (Funds II and III) and Horizon, a South African tech fund.
