KALYALYA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Denny H. Kalyalya is the current Governor\u00a0and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the\u00a0Bank of Zambia since October 2021. He is also\u00a0the Co-Chair of the Financial Stability Board\u00a0Regional Consultative Group for Sub-Saharan\u00a0Africa (FSB-RCG SSA), and was Chairperson\u00a0of the Association of African Central Banks\u00a0(AACB) from August 2023 \u2013 August 2024. He\u00a0also served as the Vice Chairperson of the\u00a0AACB from August 2022 to August 2023. Prior\u00a0to that, he was Chairperson of the Southern\u00a0African Region of the AACB.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Kalyalya is a Member of the Board of\u00a0Directors of the African Export-Import Bank\u00a0(Afreximbank) since 2019. He served as an\u00a0Independent Co-Chair of IDA 20\u00a0Replenishment, that is, the International\u00a0Development Association, a member of the\u00a0World Bank Group (WBG). He previously\u00a0served as a Borrower Representative for the IDA 18 and IDA 19 replenishments. He also served\u00a0as Governor and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Zambia from February 2015\u00a0to August 2020. Prior to that, he served as Executive Director (2012 \u2013 2014) and Alternate\u00a0Executive Director (2010 \u2013 2012) for Africa Group One Constituency at the WBG, and Deputy\u00a0Governor &#8211; Operations at the Bank of Zambia.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Kalyalya served in other senior positions, including being Special Appointee at the International\u00a0Monetary Fund, Director of Economics at Bank of Zambia, and Head of the Economics\u00a0Department as well as Assistant Dean, Post Graduate Studies, School of Humanities and Social\u00a0Sciences at the University of Zambia. He holds a PhD in Economics and a Master of Arts in\u00a0Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in the USA as well as a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Zambia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","evenement-salon":[],"class_list":["post-440561","sb_speaker","type-sb_speaker","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Denny H.
