Vera DAVES DE SOUSA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vera Daves de Sousa was born in Luanda, daughter of Angolan parents, married and\u00a0<br \/>mother of three children. She has a degree in Economics from the Catholic University of\u00a0<br \/>Angola in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Vera began her professional career in 2006 at Sonangol ESSA as a Finance Technician\u00a0<br \/>and, in the same year, joined Banco Privado Atl\u00e2ntico, where she served as Risk Analyst,\u00a0<br \/>Market Analyst and Director of the Products and Research Department until 2012.<\/p>\n<p>During this period, between 2006 and 2012, she was also an Assistant Lecturer in the\u00a0<br \/>subjects of Public Finance and Economic Integration at the Catholic University of Angola.<br \/>In 2013, she co-authored the book Public Finance \u2013 Theory and Practical Exercises. From\u00a0<br \/>2013 to 2016, she was a member of the jury for the Sirius Awards, sponsored by Deloitte.\u00a0<br \/>During this time, she also worked as an economic commentator in various media outlets.<\/p>\n<p>From 2016 to 2017, she was Chairwoman of the Capital Markets Commission, after serving\u00a0<br \/>nearly five years as an executive board member. From October 2017 to October 2019, she\u00a0<br \/>held the position of Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury. Since then, she has been\u00a0<br \/>Minister of Finance, having been reappointed after the August 2022 elections.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2022, she successfully completed the Women\u2019s Leadership Master-Class by ODDO\u00a0<br \/>BHF, consisting of 8 modules designed and delivered by the SMART Leadership Institute.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, Vera Daves de Sousa was distinguished as Minister of Finance of the Year by the\u00a0<br \/>African Banker Awards and, in 2023, she received the African Minister of Finance award, a\u00a0<br \/>distinction made by The Banker magazine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","evenement-salon":[250],"class_list":["post-470265","sb_speaker","type-sb_speaker","status-publish","hentry","evenement-salon-250"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>H.E.
