Bernard Ohemeng-Baah is the Deputy Commissioner at the National Insurance Commission in Ghana, where he champions efforts to modernise the insurance industry through technology and inclusive policy frameworks. He brings over two decades of leadership experience in insurance operations, strategy, and compliance. Bernard also serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in Insurance Law at the University of Ghana Business School. He draws on extensive industry experience and academic research\u2014combining practical insight with analytical depth\u2014to shape policies that expand insurance access and resilience. He currently explores the intersection of technology, insurance, and economic empowerment within informal African economies, as well as the insurance of cyber risks. Bernard holds an LL.M. in Insurance Law from Queen Mary University of London and an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Ghana.
